First Haircut

After hearing many a horror story about little ones melting into hysterics at their first haircut, we were prepared for the worst. We brought along reinforcements--Nana, Mimi, and crayons--and held our breath. But Julia surprised us all, proving our worries to be unfounded. A few snips and a short blowdry later, Julia showed off her cute new do. Turns out she loves having her haircut! But, come to think of it...with tons of attention, all the lollipops she can eat, and mirrors everywhere, why wouldn't she?

J even got a certificate to mark the occasion:

Simple Pleasures

It was a warm spring evening. After work, we played with bubbles in the backyard.

[Note that J is sporting her cool new hot pink crocs sandals, which she LOVES (we just can't figure out where she got her thing for shoes)].

First Parent-Teacher Conference

Today we took part in the parental rite of passage of the first parent-teacher conference. We had a really nice meeting with Julia's teachers, Miss Jessica and Miss Ethy, and Lil Bug got a very good report (especially considering she still "protests" loudly almost every time she's dropped off at school).

She even got her first report card:
Daddy and Mommy are very proud!!

HAPPY PURIM

Julia dressed up as a toddler ballerina version of Queen Esther for Purim (any excuse to wear a tutu and crown!):

And a fun time was had by all (but mostly by Julia) at the Purim Carnival:

Splish Splash

Like Mommy Like Julia

Julia loves to wear Mommy's jewelry. Not surprisingly, one of the newest additions to her vocabulary is "necklace."

Our Little Picasso

Each week, Julia brings home from school a new piece of Julia Mae original artwork. As you can see from this sample of her portfolio, her current focus is abstract expressionism.

We don't quite know what to make of these:

Happiness is...Time With Grandparents

We had a great time with Nana, Papa, Mimi, Poppy Len, and Nina. Julia was ecstatic to have so many members of her "fan club" with her at one time. We all enjoyed the warm weather and celebrated Mimi and Nana's birthdays.
