Happy Halloween!

Welcome Alex Benjamin Miller!

On October 12, 2009 at 1:33 pm, we joyfully welcomed Alex Benjamin Miller into our family! Alex weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long.

As if beginning Week 39 of pregnancy wasn't exciting enough, this weekend, Julia got sick - and not just any kind of sick . . . swine flu sick! YIKES! We felt lucky to get our hands on what is apparently some of the last Tamiflu in the city, for Julia and Mommy. Julia seems to be getting better (as is Daddy, who has been fighting what was officially diagnosed as "the crud"), and so far, (knock on wood) Mommy has avoided the dreaded H1N1 virus. We've instructed the baby in the belly to hold off on his arrival at least a few more days until we can get everyone healthy again. We'll see if he'll follow directions.

Pregnancy Week 33

Well, we've made it to Week 33. We're anxious to finish up the rest of the pregnancy and welcome Baby Boy Miller into our family!

First Day of School

Julia was excited to go back to school today. She loves her new classroom, teachers, and classmates and was all smiles on the first day. Taking after her daddy, she already knows the names of all the kids in her class and is on her way to learning each of their favorite colors and parents' names. Taking after her mommy, she was very proud to show off her new shoes at school.

Adventures in Potty Training, Continued

Julia sure has come a long way since we first blogged about our adventures in potty training. We are THRILLED to report that Julia is officially potty trained! With the exception of bedtime, Julia has completely kicked pull-ups and diapers and is all about her panties! Hooray! We're so proud of our BIG GIRL!!

Beautiful Baby Shower / Family Extravaganza in The Woodlands

Mom (R), Mom (M), Nina, Lindsay and Elisa hosted a beautiful little baby shower for us at Mom and Dad's house.

After the shower, the Reinsmith-Miller-Bettan-Gilbert family enjoyed a great weekend of R&R at the Reinsmith Resort.

Julia enjoyed some quality time with her Papa and Poppy...

...and loved playing in the pool with Uncle Lance...

...and playing doctor with Aunt Elisa (whom she determined to be in excellent health).

Aunt Lindsay and Jason introduced Shadow to the family. Everyone, including Julia, got to have a turn holding her.

A great time was had by all! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Everyone Can Play!

Julia was playing with some newly-made friends at the library, when a not-so-nice little boy told one of the little girls that she couldn't play with the group. Julia looked right at the little bully and said 'NO, EVERYONE CAN PLAY!'

Unexpected Surprises

Yesterday, at the pool, Julia's nose was really runny. While cleaning her nose with a tissue, Stuart found an unexpected surprise - out of J's little nostril came a tiny, hot pink high-heeled Disney Princess shoe (we think it once belonged to Sleeping Beauty). Wonder how long it was up there!

Julia Dressed Herself This Morning

Julia was proud to go to camp today in her hand-picked outfit - black tutu skirt, orange tank top, and hot pink water shoes.

Julia's Big Girl Bed!

It was a BIG day at our house! Julia got a brand new big girl bed, which she prefers to call her "good girl bed." As the pictures show, so far, she loves her new bed! She doesn't even seem to notice that the C-R-I-B is still in her room (in case of emergency). We haven't tried out the bed for actual sleeping yet, but we'll see tonight how that goes (fingers crossed)...




UPDATE: First night in the big girl bed was a success!!

Happy 4th of July!

This year, we spent 4th of July at La Torretta Del Lago. Great fun family time (even if Julia didn't like the fireworks).
